It is certified to be used in any extreme environment and the rugged magnesium housing makes the unit shock proof, and the chassis, display and keyboard are all sealed against spills, dust and rain. The color screen is visible even in direct sunlight and a light sensor automatically adjusts intensity as incident light changes. The detachable keyboard includes user adjustable backlight as well as an embedded solid-state mouse.
